- I used to work part time at a scrapbooking store. The company downsized and I lost my job. So now I am trying the stay-at-home-mom thing for the first time since Avery was born. Its been over a year and things are going well.
- Patrick used to work at EA (Electronic Arts) but now works at a smaller video game company that is much cooler.
- Avery used to go to an awesome daycare full time, the woman who runs it is named Lisa. Unfortunately after 4 years of Avery being with Lisa, we had to take her out. Lisa decided to overhaul her daycare. She wanted to charge more, do less, and had some really nutty ideas because she though "main streaming" her daycare was a good idea. But it wasn't. The reason I loved the daycare was because it wasn't like other daycares.
- Patrick and I have known each other since we were babies, but we didn't know that until I was pregnant. We went to the same daycare when we were babies, then somehow we both ended up moving to another city, about 3 blocks away from each other. (Our parents still live there). His family moved to Edmonton for awhile, and then moved back. We went to the same elementary school, and the same high school. In grade 8 we were friends, in grade 9 we started dating.
- I got pregnant when I was 16. I had Avery a month after I turned 17. It has been an incredible experience. I learned so many things. I think the reasons that Patrick and I have been successful parents are: We have fantastic communication skills, we are open minded, we have common sense, we listen to other people's suggestions on parenting and make our own, We have lots and lots of fun and we love each other more than anything.
